Man United man suffers hamstring injury on international duty, doubt for next game

Manchester United could have been dealt two injury blows during England’s 2-1 loss to Spain on Saturday evening.

First, Luke Shaw, who was involved in a nasty head collision midway through the second-half.

Now, according to The Metro, his teammate Marcus Rashford is also facing an issue. They claim that the 20-year-old suffered a suspected hamstring problem and he’ll now face a late fitness test before the Three Lions’ game on Tuesday – when Gareth Southgate’s men take on Switzerland.

‘Rashford was feeling something, we’ll have to assess him in the morning.’ Southgate said following the defeat.

This is the last thing United need at the moment. International break injuries are slowly piling up, and teams still have games to play. Let’s hope we’re not dealt any more blows like Shaw, Fellaini and now Rashford…

As for the 20-year-old, he’ll be feeling bitterly disappointed with the situation at United. Rashford will miss the next three games due to a suspension for an apparent headbutt on Phil Bardsley last time out.

Now, he’ll be targeting a return to club action in the Champions League when United take on Young Boys in Switzerland. Hopefully, Southgate does the sensible thing and doesn’t risk Rashford on Tuesday – all it’ll do is make the issue worse and aggravate Jose Mourinho. That’s never a good thing…
