Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini has held talks with Besiktas, regarding a potential move away from Old Trafford. That’s what Turkish-Football’s Emre Sarigul writes.
The midfielder is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract at the Theatre of Dreams, with his current deal running out next summer. That means he’d be free to discuss pre-contractual terms with an overseas club when January rolls around.
Turkish club Besiktas plan to do exactly that, as they’d obviously prefer to wait six months and get him on a free transfer.
It is thought that Jose Mourinho is desperate to keep the Belgian in Manchester, and based off of his recent performances, you can see exactly why. He’s been a brilliant weapon for us this term, and we’ve missed him dearly while the 6’5 midfielder has been out injured.
Obviously, United would want to either sell him in January in order to get some form of transfer fee for him, or secure Fellaini down to a new long-term contract. Right now, the former looks more likely.
With all that said, the majority of United fans still feel that Fellaini isn’t a typical Red Devils player, and many probably wouldn’t bat an eyelid if he were to leave.
