Man United monitoring Bundesliga forward Alassane Plea: report

Right now, Odion Ighalo is having the time of his life at Manchester United, while on loan from Shanghai Shenhua.

However, all good things must come to an end and the Red Devils will be looking for a permanent, long-term solution; enter Alassane Plea, who currently plies his trade for Borussia Monchengladbach.

The story comes from Le10Sport, translated via the Daily Mirror. It is claimed that United are ‘monitoring’ the 7-goal forward, who has also tacked on eight assists for his teammates this term.

Apparently, the Bundesliga outfit are prepared for offers for their striker, though they’ll demand a hefty fee to let him leave. Their task is made somewhat easier by interested from Leicester City, too, as if both sides firm up their interest with officials offers, it could kickstart a bidding war…

Again, I get the impression that United aren’t looking to go majorly big in terms of signing a striker. Instead, you get the feeling they’re looking for a back-up or rotational option, someone who can drift in and out of the team when Anthony Martial needs a rest.

Is Plea that guy? I’m not so sure as I’ve rarely seen him play. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has nailed each and every one of his signings so far, so who are we to doubt him…?
