Man United ‘monitoring’ Eberechi Eze ahead of next summer as they look to sign new winger

Man United could make their move for Crystal Palace man, Eberechi Eze, next summer.

Manchester United are not going to undertake a quick fix. It’s going to take time for INEOS to return this club to former glory.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made a good start, fully backing Erik ten Hag, though he’ll know better than anyone that further signings are needed if United are to challenge for the major prizes on a regular basis.

Planning for next summer is already underway, with the Manchester Evening News outlining an early transfer strategy for the 20-time Premier League champions.

They state that the Reds want to sign a defender, midfielder and a winger next summer, with Eberechi Eze being eyed to fill that attacking position.

According to the MEN, the Reds are ‘monitoring’ the exciting 26-year-old, who currently plies his trade for Crystal Palace.

The Eagles talisman was subject to heavy interest this summer, though Palace cashed in on Michael Olise instead, meaning they were under no pressure to sell Eze.

That could change next summer, particularly as Eze has a release clause that becomes active in 2025, meaning he’d be available to buy for £68m. Honestly, for a player of this quality, that is an absolute bargain.

Eze has dazzled ever since making the move to Selhurst Park, while he’s now an England regular too. He’s the typical United footballer who will always get the fans in the mood due to his style of play.

This would be an excellent piece of business from a stylistic point of view, too, while Eze’s versatility means he can either play on the wing or through the middle if necessary.

Although this would be an expensive chunk of the budget, Eze would be worth every single penny.
