Man United are weighing up a move to sign young goalkeeper, Matthew Young.

Manchester United Football Club have been struggling on and off the field to start this season. Injuries haven’t helped, while there’s a real worry that the potential sale of the club may fall through.

Erik ten Hag is having a tough time of things at present, though he’s absolutely the right manager for the job. He just needs a little help from the powers that be above him.

Further signings are needed in future, at both first-team and youth level. The latest rumour links a younger player with a move to the Theatre of Dreams.

It comes from the I newspaper, who believe United are weighing up a move to sign young goalkeeper, Matthew Young.

According to the story, United are ‘monitoring’ the ‘highly-rated’ shot-stopper, though they’ll face competition from local rivals, Manchester City.

Young currently plays for Sunderland’s U18s, with the young man having an excellent season at that age group. He has been touted to follow in Jordan Pickford’s footsteps, moving from Sunderland to the England national side.

Young apparently snubbed interest from Wolves over the summer, presumably with the hope that bigger sides will come in to make their offer in the not too distant future.

Aged just sixteen, it’s always tough to gauge exactly how these younger players are going to develop. However, there’s no better place to learn your craft than at Manchester United. They’ll always give young players a chance and Young could be another massive asset for the Red Devils, should he make the move.

At this stage, it’s by no means a done deal that this will actually happen, though United do seem intrigued by what Young would have to offer.
