Man United are monitoring Joao Felix ahead of this summer transfer window.
Erik ten Hag is slowly formulating a squad that fits his style of play. Obviously, this takes time. Given the fact he’s only had one summer transfer window so far, I reckon he’s doing a pretty good job.
This coming window is going to be huge. United have to back their man if they’re keen on continuing their progression – regardless of who the owners are, at that point in time.
Several names continue to be linked with an Old Trafford switch. The latest is Joao Felix.
It’s Mundo Deportivo (Spanish) with the claim. Thanks to BBC Sport’s gossip column (April 2nd) for discovering and translating the information.
Apparently, United are monitoring the situation of the 23-year-old star, who is currently on a Premier League loan with Chelsea.
The man from Portugal, who is technically an Atletico Madrid player, has performed well in a struggling Chelsea side since moving to Stamford Bridge in January.
He often looks like Chelsea’s brightest spark in games, creating chances, scoring goals and looking like a general threat.
The problem with Felix is the fact that his name is often mentioned with a hefty price tag. Largely as Atletico Madrid are looking to recoup as much as possible from his sale.
If the price is right, then United should absolutely look at getting this deal done. Felix is a high-level player who’d fit into this system nicely. He can also play in a variety of positions, which is something that Ten Hag clearly likes.
As things stand, I wouldn’t imagine Felix is a top target for United at this point, though it’s a deal definitely worth keeping an eye on.
