Man United are looking at a potential move for Abdallah Sima.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have one large problem to worry about over the summer; signing a new forward.
Edinson Cavani’s future remains up in the air, while right now, the stories seem to suggest that El Matador wants to be closer to home. Sadly, the heart wants what the heart wants.
That leaves Manchester United with a decision to make in regards to who to bring in as a replacement. That’s where Abdallah Simah comes in…
According to the Manchester Evening News, United are ‘monitoring’ the prolific 21-year-old, who has scored nineteen goals across all competitions this term.
Four of Sima’s goals came during a pretty impressive Slavia Prague Europa League run this season, with one of those strikes coming against Leicester City – so he does have some experience when it comes to going up against some top-quality footballers.
The MEN add that if they were to cash in on Sima this summer, he would be eligible for a governing body endorsement. That means players must obtain a GBE from the Football Association before they can play for a new English club – which could complicate things from a Red Devils standpoint.
Sima’s stock is rising, particularly after making his Senegal debut earlier this season. No doubt clubs will start taking even further note of the young forward’s talents if he continues to bang in the goals for club (and maybe country).
This is the sort of player United have shown an obvious preference towards signing, though I can’t help but feel Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate for a proven commodity up top. We need a guaranteed 20+ goals-a-season. I’m not sure Sima will offer that in the 2021/22 campaign.
