Man United ‘monitoring the situation’ of Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka

Man United are still keeping an eye on Bayern Munich midfielder, Leon Goretzka.

Manchester United are still looking to strengthen the playing squad under Erik ten Hag, with INEOS trying their utmost to help this team return to its former glory. However, it’s a slow process and we have to remain patient.

The January transfer window is now just on the horizon, with planning well underway for any potential incoming and outgoings.

Florian Plettenberg has provided one story on a possible addition or two; Leon Goretzka and Leroy Sane.

The pair play for Bayern Munich, though the Sane move feels like one that’s less likely due to the fact he is currently in talks with the German club about a new contract.

In regard to Goretzka, a possible January move to bring in the 29-year-old has been talked up by Plettenberg, as the Reds want to add some extra quality to their midfield.

United are said to be ‘monitoring’ the situations of both players at this point in time.

Check out Florian Plettenberg’s X post on the news here:

Goretzka has been linked with United somewhat recently, with the German’s future far from secure in Bavaria. United could look to take advantage of that situation by making a mid-season move to bring him in.

The midfield man would add some extra depth in a position that has proven inconsistent for the Old Trafford club this term. The likes of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes have all struggled to start this campaign, while we’re still not quite sure what to expect from Manuel Ugarte.

Bringing in a proven winner like Goretzka could be a smart piece of business, particularly if he’s available at a relatively cheap price.
