Man United are looking to add Ruud van Nistelrooy to the coaching staff, with talks progressing quickly.
Manchester United Football Club nearly decided to replace Erik ten Hag this summer, though the Dutchman’s FA Cup final success probably was the reason why he remains in the job. Honestly, he deserves another crack at the whip, given the names being linked with taking up the role.
Preparation for the 2024/25 season is well underway, with the Reds now doing all they can to help out the ex-Ajax manager. What better way to ease the situation than by adding to the coaching staff? With a club icon at that?!
This is the first time we’ve covered the news, though it is moving rapidly. Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Reds are looking to add Ruud van Nistelrooy to the coaching staff, with the move said to be ‘advancing fast’.
The Dutchman has most recently managed PSV Eindhoven, while he remains a candidate to take up the Burnley job. However, a role at his beloved Theatre of Dreams may be too good to turn down.

Honestly, this is super exciting. Van Nistelrooy would be an elite coach – while the help he’d provide the likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford could be absolutely massive.
This United side struggled to finish off their chances last season and with an absolute master like Ruud helping the lads out, you’d like to think that our goals tally will drastically improve over the course of the campaign.
Welcoming a club hero home is just the cherry on top.
