Man United name 22-man squad for Young Boys away

Man United have named their travelling party for Young Boys away.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer kicks off his and Manchester United’s Champions League campaign tomorrow night, against Swiss side Young Boys.

Cast your mind back a couple of years and United have played these guys before. They’d make it tough for us, though in the end, the Reds would run out relatively comfortable winners.

It’s definitely fair to suggest that United have been handed a favourable draw in terms of their group, with this the perfect opportunity to kick things off on the right foot.

Anyway, ahead of the clash, Solskjaer has named his travelling party. There is one notable absentee, though it was expected as Edinson Cavani is set to be sidelined for about a week.

Check out the 22-strong squad in full here (via ManUtd.com):

De Gea, Heaton, Kovar; Bailly, Dalot, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Varane, Wan-Bissaka; Fernandes, Fred, Lingard, Mata, Matic, Pogba, Sancho, van de Beek; Elanga, Greenwood, Martial, Ronaldo.

As you’d expect, the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw and Mason Greenwood are all included, as United want to go out to Switzerland and come back with all three points.

There’s also a spot in the team for Anthony Elanga, who could be in line for his first appearance of the campaign following injury.

I’d expect we’ll see a much-changed side take to the field during this one. The likes of Donny van de Beek, Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelof and Tom Heaton could all feature.

Whatever team the Red Devils put out there, you’d hope that we’d have more than enough quality to get this job done. Now is the time where the games start coming thick and fast so here’s where we need to keep an eye on the fitness situations of each and every player within that dressing room.
