Man United will not be cashing in on Mason Mount this summer, despite reports.
Manchester United Football Club were hit hard by the injury bug last season, which led to struggles in pretty much every position on the field. You’d like to think that will not happen again this term.
One man who suffered and struggled as a result was Mason Mount. The midfielder arrived from Chelsea with promise aplenty, though he just couldn’t keep fit. At United, there’s very little room for mistakes, hence, reports claimed he could be deemed surplus to requirements after just one season.
Well, that’s not the case at all, if the latest information from Fabrizio Romano turns out to be correct. He says that United are ‘not planning’ on selling the 26-year-old despite his struggles. The player himself is also only ‘focused’ on United, after an unlucky first season. The Englishman is all set to stay.

Mount is an excellent player. He was super unlucky last term as he just couldn’t get back out on the field as the injuries kept piling up. If he can put those problems behind him, he could feel like a new signing this term.
His movement, energy, sheer skill and natural ability will be a fantastic asset for this United squad, which was hit and miss in the midfield area last season (aside from Kobbie Mainoo).
Mount now has to keep working hard, take his chances on pre-season tour and prove that he is worthy of a place in the starting line-up on a regular basis.
