Man United could yet make a move to bring Sofyan Amrabat to Old Trafford this summer.
Manchester United Football Club need to sign a new midfielder. There is now plenty of talk about potential acquisitions in that area of the field, including the likes of Manuel Ugarte, Martin Zubimendi and more recently, Sander Berge.
However, with money tight, the Old Trafford side could look to bring a cheaper, familiar name back to the Theatre of Dreams; Sofyan Amrabat.
It’s The Telegraph with the story, who state that United have not yet ruled out the possibility of signing the 27-year-old on a permanent deal.
United had the option to sign Amrabat in a deal totalling a little over £20m after add-ons and bonuses after his loan, though the Red Devils turned that option down.
The 20-time Premier League champions would now have to negotiate a fee with Fiorentina to sign the man from Morocco.
The player himself is ‘waiting’ for United to ‘reveal their hand’ before making a final decision on where his future lies.
Amrabat struggled at the start of his United career, though he ended his time in Manchester extremely positively, culminating in a monstrous performance in the FA Cup final against Manchester City. He was outstanding in that match.
I’d still be more than open to bringing Sofyan Amrabat back to #mufc. Knows the club. Performed brilliantly at the end of the season. Would also be cheap meaning money can be spent on others. 🙌💪 pic.twitter.com/ZjVMbDNPw2

This may not be a glamorous signing, but it could be a smart one. Amrabat knows the club inside out, while we’ve seen that he can perform under the pressure of the big occasion. At a reasonable price, this could be a wise piece of business for Erik ten Hag.
With money tight, it may make sense to bring in someone familiar with the club, rather than trying to generate funds to sign someone like Ugarte, who’d cost four times as much.
