Man United are said to be behind West Ham United in the race to sign Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.

Manchester United’s attentions have now seemingly turned to signing a left-back this summer. The Red Devils have acquired a centre-half and a striker as INEOS look to start filling some gaps within the squad.

Over the last couple of days, Noussair Mazraoui‘s name has appeared as a possible option for the Old Trafford club.

The man from Morocco is set to leave Bayern Munich this summer, assuming the right offer comes in.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg has provided the latest on that front, with the Red Devils now behind in the race to sign the 26-year-old.

Fellow Premier League club, West Ham United have ‘reached an agreement’ to sign Noussair, in a deal worth around £16.8m.

The deal is not done yet as ‘important financial details’ need to be worked out. The Red Devils are still in the hunt, with their hopes at signing Mazraoui hanging on by a thread.

The glaring issue for United is the fact that they still have to sell before they can buy. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is one player who could be out the exit door, though it’s West Ham who showed the most interest in ‘The Spider’. Unfortunately, it now looks they’re going to beat United to the signing of Mazraoui instead.

This is one that is looking like slipping through the net, which would be disappointing. Mazraoui has worked with Erik ten Hag previously at Ajax, while the stylistic fit would be perfect for the way United like to play their football.

It looks as though something special is going to have to happen in order for Mazraoui to be playing his football in Manchester next term.
