Man United are now pushing for the signing of Juventus’ Gleison Bremer, with a price now named by the Italian club.

Manchester United are now consistently being linked with a move to sign at least one central defender this summer. It makes sense.

Raphael Varane is constantly injured. Lisandro Martinez has had his own issues, too. Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire are not getting any younger. The Old Trafford side need to bring in someone reliable, someone who can start games week-in-week-out.

Jarrad Branthwaite and Jean-Clair Todibo head the list of names linked with filling that void, though we cannot rule out Gleison Bremer.

The Brazilian, who currently plies his trade for Juventus, has had another positive season over in Italy.

Now, Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), have provided an update on that front – and it’s a pretty significant one. Apparently, United are now pushing for the defensive signing of Bremer.

Bremer ‘entices’ the Red Devils due to his recent performances, while around £51m would be enough to get a deal done.

The defender has a release clause for £51m (60m euro) that comes into effect during the summer of 2025. However, Juventus would accept that figure if an offer came in for the centre-half during the upcoming window.

In terms of price, United are not put off by the figures being mentioned, while it’s also stated that Erik ten Hag’s side have been speaking to Bremer’s agents for quite some time now.

Perhaps most importantly, Bremer hasn’t missed a single game due to injury this term. He’s in his prime, too, meaning United would be acquiring a player who can come straight in and make a positive impression.
