Man United have offered Donny van de Beek to AS Roma.

The Old Trafford dressing room is already looking drastically different than it did a year ago, with Manchester United staring a huge summer transfer window in the face right now.

Signings are needed. Others have to be sold. So far, there’s been very little movement. However, our window could burst into life at any time.

The latest story comes from Pazzi di Fanta (relayed by Gianluca Di Marzio). The Italian media outlet believe United are looking to move on from Donny van de Beek.

The former Ajax man has struggled for any sort of consistency here in Manchester. Now, United have apparently offered the £120k-a-week (Spotrac) star to Serie A club, AS Roma. They’ll evaluate a potential move before making a bid.

Van de Beek’s season was cut short due to serious injury back in January, though it’s believed he will be fit for pre-season, should he remain a Red Devil.

At this point, though, it’s blatantly obvious that a move away is in the best interests of everyone. Van de Beek’s confidence is absolutely shot here in Manchester and he needs that change of scenery.

I understand that Van de Beek displayed his best form under Ten Hag at Ajax, though it feels like there’s too much water under the bridge here in Manchester.

In terms of transfer fee, a minimal amount should suffice. His injury problems coupled with poor form means United will do well to get anything close to the £35m they paid to sign the Dutchman.

Be it to AS Roma or elsewhere, Van de Beek needs to be playing regular football in order to restore his own personal belief in his ability.
