Manchester United have offered Donny van de Beek as a makeweight in any Jadon Sancho deal.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seemingly loves Jadon Sancho. The Baby Faced Assassin has been pushing hard to try and sign the Englishman ever since his permanent hiring as Manchester United manager.
Until now, that pursuit has been unsuccessful. This summer, though, there seems to be a real feeling that United will finally land their man. After all, COVID restrictions are easing, meaning more money will be available, while Sancho’s contract continues to wind down.
Well now, it seems as though United are trying a different approach in their pursuit of Sancho. According to the Transfer Window Podcast, transcribed by The Express, United are looking at some form of swap deal.
Apparently, United are set to offer struggling star, Donny van de Beek, as a makeweight in a deal to sign the top-class 21-year-old this summer. It’s claimed as of right now, Van de Beek has no knowledge of this idea, though Dortmund are ‘considering’ the offer.
Van de Beek hasn’t been able to nail down a place in the starting line-up since arriving at Old Trafford, while a cruel injury blow would rule him out of EURO 2020. Now, it seems as though United are ready to cut their losses.
As for Sancho, he’s also having a tough summer, having only played a handful of minutes at EURO 2020 with England. That hasn’t put off Solskjaer’s interest in the speedy winger, though.
At this point, this feels like a good move for all involved. Van de Beek can kickstart his career at Dortmund, a club who look after their players brilliantly. As for Sancho, he’d finally be getting the big-money move he wants. Where better to transfer too than back to his homeland as well?
