Manchester United Football Club have been offered the chance to sign Marco Verratti this summer.
That’s according to Italian media outlet, Calciomercato, translated by the Manchester Evening News. The article states that Paris Saint-Germain have told the Red Devils that Verratti is available, with the 25-year-old unhappy with the Ligue 1 champions.
Verratti feels he’s been unfairly treated and wants to leave this summer, with United given a great opportunity to bring in an elite level central midfielder.
When I think of box-to-box, the Italian is a name that always comes to mind. He’s got a real engine on him, he’s tough in the tackle, while also being pretty good in possession.
It’s criminal that PSG would be willing to let him leave so easily, and although we’ve signed Fred this summer, we simply cannot pass up the opportunity to sign Verratti if he’s willing to move to Old Trafford.
No doubt that there would be competition aplenty to sign the man from Italy, but when you’ve the spending power that United have, they should be right at the front of the queue.
Thankfully (for us anyway), Italy aren’t in the World Cup, so negotiations can take place during the tournament, rather than having to wait for it to finish.
