Man United have made their interests in Eduardo Camavinga known. Now, they’ll try to convince the player to make the transfer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad is now starting to take shape. The Old Trafford club have been edging in a positive direction over the last few seasons, with 2021/22 shaping up to be a really promising campaign for Manchester United.
Ahead of the actual football comes a hugely important transfer window. It looks like one major hole (right-wing), is set to be filled by Jadon Sancho. Though there’s still work to do in both the defence and midfield.
Well, in terms of midfielders, Eduardo Camavinga seems like United’s main target. The story came from RMC Sport journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi, who tweeted the news a couple of days ago.
Apparently, United have ‘officially expressed interest’ in signing the talented teen. Furthermore, United will meet his ‘entourage’ next week, to convince the 18-year-old to make the move to Manchester.
Sadly, it’s not all good news. As of right now, Paris Saint-Germain remain the favourites to land Camavinga’s signature. Understandably, the Frenchman would like to stay in his homeland.
Camavinga’s current club, Rennes, better act quickly, though. If they don’t cash in on the midfielder this summer, he’ll be available on a free transfer in twelve months’ time.
It feels like United’s only chance is to massively outbid PSG and offer Camavinga an irresistible wage packet. Failing that, he looks all but certain to be headed to the French capital either this summer or the next.
Players like Camavinga don’t come around very often, particularly on a winding down contract, so I do understand why United are pushing pretty hard to make this deal happen. I just see it as highly unlikely to happen right now, though…
