Manchester United could be on the verge of completing their second signing of the summer, if reports from L’Equipe, translated via The Metro are to be believed. They say that former PSG academy star Aliou Badara Traore is set to pen a three-year deal at Old Trafford.
Traore has left the French capital to go and play for amateur side Sarcelles, but has since been scouted by the likes of Manchester City and Juventus. Now though, it looks as though Jose Mourinho has swooped and won his signature.
The midfielder has represented France at U17 level, and in terms of style of play, he is likened to that of Paul Pogba. Traore has already had a trial at United back in February, when he found the net in an U17s game against Burnley.
He’s a player that not many people will know an awful lot about. However, you have to say that it is nice seeing Mourinho turn his attentions to youth development. Giving teenagers a chance is part of Manchester United’s mantra, and it is great to see him willing to take somewhat of a risk on bringing in youngsters.
If he does sign, we probably won’t see him at the top level for the next few years at the very least, and I guess you never know exactly how these moves are going to pan out. We’ll just have to wait and see how quickly Traore can develop.
