Man United open to sending Charlie McNeill out on loan

Man United aren’t against the idea of sending Charlie McNeill out on loan this month.

Manchester United have made great use of the loan system so far this season, with the likes of Amad, Ethan Laird and Alvaro Fernandez all playing well in the Football League.

Erik ten Hag is hoping these guys can make a real impact from now until the end of the season, with a view of these players coming back and having a genuine chance at breaking into the United first-team.

Not content with watching those three youngsters (amongst others), flourishing, another short-term deal could be on the cards.

It’s the Manchester Evening News with the scoop, claiming that a short-term move for Charlie McNeill could happen this month.

McNeill, who famously scored 600+ goals at youth level for Manchester City, before making the move to his boyhood club, United, is attracting interest from Football League sides.

Apparently, United are open to loaning out the 19-year-old starlet this month – but only if the right offer comes in.

It’s stated that the player himself is open to leaving on a loan, in order to get some first-team experience between now and the end of the season.

McNeill is one of those youngsters who is on the fringes of the first-team, but just can’t break through at the moment. Hence, why a loan feels perfect for the Englishman.

After spending some time with Sheffield Wednesday on a work experience loan last term (you can’t play games during those), that could be a potential destination.

No doubt some Championship clubs can offer McNeill the minutes his talents deserve, while again, it’d give the young man a taste of what professional football is really like.

Hopefully, United can come to some sort of agreement and get a loan deal done before the January transfer window ends.
