Man United are open to signing Adrien Rabiot from Juventus.
Manchester United Football Club may well be in the hunt for a midfielder this summer, particularly if Paul Pogba still has his heart set on departing from Old Trafford.
Well, one name they’ve been linked with a move for in the past is Adrien Rabiot. Today, those stories have resurfaced.
The article comes from Tuttosport (Wednesday print edition), translated by the guys over at Sport Witness. Apparently, United are open to signing the 25-year-old midfielder, while they could use their own player as a makeweight in the deal.
That player is Donny van de Beek. As we all know, the Dutchman has failed to make any sort of impact for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, so you can see why this is an easy transfer link to make.

Apparently, the Turin-based outfit has identified targets to strengthen their midfield this term, with Van de Beek on that list, alongside Chelsea’s Jorginho.
It’s written by Tuttosport that a player exchange involving Van de Beek is an option, while Solskjaer wouldn’t mind sacrificing the former Ajax man, if it means ‘getting their hands’ on Rabiot.
For what it’s worth, I think Rabiot is a better fit for this current United system than Van de Beek is. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a better player. Sadly, for United’s number 34, I’m not sure how things change for him at Old Trafford. Sometimes as a club, it’s better to admit you made the wrong decision sooner rather than later, in order to protect the value of the asset you’re trying to move on from.
