Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has it all to do. The Baby Faced Assassin must undertake a major squad overhaul, clearing out the dead-wood before signing players who fit his style.
Arguably the biggest question that remains is what do United do with Paul Pogba? He’s obviously immensely talented, although many would argue we haven’t seen enough from the superstar midfielder.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, United have placed a €160m (£138m) fee on the Frenchman’s head; in an effort to deter any potential buyers for the 26-year-old.
That tells me United would prefer to keep Pogba. He could be key to the Red Devils’ hopes of finishing in the top four next year, although if anyone is willing to pay over the odds for the #6, then they can take him.
Personally, I feel as though Pogba will continue to be linked with Real Madrid all summer. To be honest, I don’t see the transfer fee putting them off, particularly after the disastrous campaign they had last year – as they’ll want to make a statement over the next few months in terms of the players they sign.
Pogba could be that Galacticos signing that their fans will crave, and after the criticism he has been getting from the Old Trafford crowd, I wouldn’t be surprised if the mercurial Frenchman wanted to leave.
