Manchester United Football Club are reportedly preparing a £50million bid for Napoli midfielder Jorginho, according to the Daily Star, per The Sun.
Apparently, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are also keen on signing the 26-year-old who is setting the Serie A alight with some insanely good performance, but Jose Mourinho wants to make his move.
It comes as no surprise that the Red Devils are keen on bringing in at least one midfielder this summer, with Michael Carrick set to retire whereas Marouane Fellaini looks no closer to penning a new deal.
Jorginho would be a wonderful addition, who’d complement Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic superbly in a three-man midfield. His energetic style on both sides of the ball would suit the Premier League, while allowing the aforementioned Pogba to flourish in a role further up the field.
Napoli seems to be this season’s AS Monaco. They’re going toe-to-toe with Juventus in the Serie A title race, and it comes as no surprise that their top performers are being linked with a move away.
United certainly have the money to pull this deal off in the summer, but sorting out transfers, especially in a World Cup year, can be tough.
