Man United are set to get involved in the race to sign Moises Caicedo.

Manchester United’s new signings have been nothing short of sensational. We’re getting the early impression that Erik ten Hag is pretty good when it comes to bringing new faces in – although granted, it’s early days.

It’s still going to take time for the squad to be completely overhauled by the new gaffer – though planning for 2023 is already underway.

A name the Reds have been linked with in the past is Brighton’s Moises Caicedo. The Ecuadorian is back in the headlines again.

It’s Florian Plettenberg with the latest information. He says that United is ‘planning to enter’ the race to sign the emerging 21-year-old, who is away with Ecuador at the World Cup right now.

Apparently, the bosses are ‘highly interested’ in the midfielder, though as things stand, Brighton hopes he will stay beyond the 2023 summer transfer window.

Check out Florian Plettenberg’s tweet on the information here:

The first thing to note is that it looks highly unlikely Caicedo will be leaving Brighton in January. He’s a well-respected member of that dressing room and I don’t see him as someone who’d leave his teammates in the lurch.

I’ve been highly impressed with Caicedo the player. He’s the ideal, long-term replacement for someone like Casemiro. The big positive about the man from Ecuador is that he also possesses a fair bit of pace.

Waiting until the summer will mean more competition, particularly if you factor in just how impressive a season the young man is currently having. Sadly, that’ll also mean an inflated cost – but it’ll all be worth it in the end!
