David de Gea – Made some top-class saves when Fulham were pressing. Looking back to his brilliant best. 7/10

Tyrell Malacia – Looked a little nervy at right-back, given his unfamiliarity with the position. Grew into the game. 5/10

Victor Lindelof – Mostly solid. Won his fair share of battles. Good in the air, particularly from set pieces. 6/10

Lisandro Martinez – Looked tired, particularly when trying to deal with Dan James’ pace. Solid enough. 5/10

Luke Shaw – Played in a lovely ball for the eventual winner. All the threat from United came down his side. 6/10

Casemiro – Made some important tackles. Largely in control of the all-important midfield battle. Played some nice passes forward. 6/10

Christian Eriksen – Nice to see him score his first Reds goal. Probably should have had two. Steady. 6/10

Bruno Fernandes – Played his part in the first United goal. Drifted out of the game when shifted out wide. 6/10

Anthony Elanga – Tried to threaten with his pace but didn’t really get on the ball often enough. 5/10

Marcus Rashford – Not his most effective evening. Had a couple of half-chances. Worked hard. 5/10

Anthony Martial – Led the line well. Involved in the opening goal. Always offered his teammates an outlet. 6/10

Subs:

Scott McTominay – Played well. Particularly on the half turn.

Alejandro Garnacho – The man of the moment. Scored a well-taken goal to give the Old Trafford club the win.
