David de Gea – A bystander for the most part. He made one save of note to deny Smith Rowe. 6/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Defended well minus one slip to allow Willian space. Also played a few decent crosses into the box. 6/10
Victor Lindelof – Steady. Won some big headers. Wasn’t really stretched by pace so that definitely helped. 6/10
Harry Maguire – Marshalled the back line well. Wasn’t afraid to carry the ball forward and try to force the situation. 7/10
Luke Shaw – Probably United’s best player on the day, which is becoming a regular occurrence. Solid defensively and always willing to buccaneer forward to join in on the attack. 8/10
Scott McTominay – Started well but was dealing with some stomach ache. Subbed off on the 30-minute mark. 5/10
Fred – Passed with precision and covered every blade of grass. A standard Fred outing. 6/10
Paul Pogba – Not bad, not great. Didn’t produce the spectacular but kept the ball ticking over nicely in midfield. 6/10
Bruno Fernandes – Played it pretty safe for the most part, summed up by a 91% pass completion rate. 5/10
Edinson Cavani – Had a couple of massive opportunities, both were only half-chances though. His movement was as exceptional as ever, though. 5/10
Marcus Rashford – Not his day. Overran the ball on more than one occasion. His passing was sloppy and often made the wrong decision. 3/10
Subs:
Anthony Martial – Didn’t really get into it.
Mason Greenwood – Was involved in some nice moves.
