Dean Henderson – A quiet night. Wasn’t forced into any massive saves. 5/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Didn’t get forward enough as I’d have liked. Did a decent job defensively. 5/10
Victor Lindelof – Steady. Did his defensive job when required which is all you can ask of your centre-half. 6/10
Harry Maguire – Marshalled and controlled his defence well. 6/10
Alex Telles – United’s best attacker in the first 45. His menacing deliveries had West Ham worried. Defended well, too. 7/10
Nemanja Matic – Kept it steady and simple for 70 minutes before being subbed off. 6/10
Fred – Not his best night. Gave it away on more than one occasion. His shooting wasn’t great, either, but did you really expect anything else…? 4/10
Donny van de Beek – Didn’t really do an awful lot. Was a bystander for the most part and rightly subbed off. 4/10
Mason Greenwood – Lively. Made some nice runs. Played a couple of decent balls into the penalty area. He played well without any real reward. 6/10
Marcus Rashford – Was probably slightly greedy on more than one occasion. Had a good chance in the early-going of the second 45. Made up for it with a delicate little lay-off for McTominay. 5/10
Anthony Martial – Certainly looked more confident than he has done recently. Won a brilliant header in his own box that denied an almost-certain goal. 6/10
Subs:
Scott McTominay – Brought energy to the table that was previously lacking. Scored United’s goal with a lovely finish.
Bruno Fernandes – Came on and immediately tried to make things happen.
Edinson Cavani – Didn’t really get many chances to prove his worth.
Brandon Williams – Did ok.
Luke Shaw – It was his brilliantly-timed tackle that started the move for United’s opener.
