Here are our player ratings as Man United beat Nottingham Forest 1-0.

Andre Onana – Made some unreal saves at 0-0 to preserve his clean sheet. His contributions were vital. 7/10

Diogo Dalot – A mixed evening. Worked hard and consistently bombed up and down his flank. Didn’t deliver the quality into the box, though. 5/10

Raphael Varane – Excellent defensively throughout. Positioning was superb. Won headers and tackles. Brilliant. 7/10

Victor Lindelof – He was solid enough against an energetic Forest attack. Far more comfortable at centre-back. 6/10

Sofyan Amrabat – Hasn’t started for months. Played out of position at left-back and just didn’t have the pace to deal with the Forest counterattack. Also made some of his own problems with poor passing. 3/10

Casemiro – Scored the winner with a well-improvised header. His best game in a while. 7/10

Scott McTominay – Deployed quite high up the field. Had a few half-chances but that was about it. 5/10

Bruno Fernandes – Clearly not fit but worked his absolute socks off for the cause. Went down with little problems time and time again which didn’t help momentum. Wasteful in the final third but came up with a sumptuous ball for the winner. 4/10

Alejandro Garnacho – Wasn’t quite his night. Nothing he tried really came off, though he always puts in the required effort. 4/10

Antony – His first start in a while. He worked hard on both sides of the ball, though he was far too predictable when attacking. The lack of a right foot doesn’t help. All that said, he was probably United’s best attacker… 4/10

Marcus Rashford – Poor. For me, it starts with the body language. Constantly throwing his arms up in the air while often showing a lack of fight. Is better out wide, granted, but you expect more. 3/10

Subs:

Amad – Nice to see him out there. Fairly quiet.

Jonny Evans – Helped see the game out.

Kobbie Mainoo – Held the ball in the corner late on to kill some clock.
