Dean Henderson – Was beaten twice within the opening exchanges. Fortunately, both were ruled out for offside. Made a couple of smart saves after that. Was at fault for the Milan leveller. 3/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – He was constantly pushed back but did his defensive duties well. Didn’t get forward enough. 5/10
Eric Bailly – Pretty solid for the most part. Defended well and used his pace when required. 6/10
Harry Maguire – Missed an absolute sitter in the first 45. Was at fault for the Milan second that was ruled out as he got caught ball-watching. Improved in the second half. 5/10
Alex Telles – He didn’t really light it up, did he? There were a couple of bright moments but that was about it. 4/10
Nemanja Matic – I appreciate all he’s done for us, but he’s just so slow and static. An onlooker for the most part. 3/10
Scott McTominay – Wasn’t at it. His passing was sloppy and we didn’t really see those driving runs forward. On another day, he could have been sent off… 4/10
Bruno Fernandes – Had a dreadful first 45 minutes, but played in an out-of-this-world ball for the United opener. He always impacts games. 6/10
Mason Greenwood – Scarily quiet. Saw more of him on the defensive side rather than attacking. 4/10
Anthony Martial – The ball was bouncing off him for the most part. Subbed at half-time. I hope he’s ok. 4/10
Daniel James – Had a glorious chance to make it two but he couldn’t convert. Pretty poor. 4/10
Subs:
Amad Diallo – Came on at half-time and changed the game with a sublime backwards heaer. A star is born.
Fred – Steady.
Luke Shaw – Worked his socks off.
Brandon Williams – Nice to see him involved.
