Tom Heaton – Made a couple of really smart saves to preserve his deserved clean sheet. 6/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Decent enough in the final third. Did his job well on the defensive side of things. 5/10

Raphael Varane – The Frenchman looked solid throughout. Dealt with the Surridge threat. 6/10

Lisandro Martinez Great with the ball at feet. Always super calm and composed. 6/10

Luke Shaw – Excellent as per usual. Playing at a high level right now. Good to see him back following illness. 7/10

Casemiro – Protected his back four well. Didn’t let anyone bypass him easily. 6/10

Fred – Scored the second to kill the tie. Covered every blade of grass for the cause. 6/10

Bruno Fernandes – At the heart of everything good about United’s play. Played some outrageous passes. 8/10

Antony – Good in possession. Didn’t attack as often as I’d liked. 6/10

Alejandro Garnacho – A bit inconsistent. Tried too hard at times. It didn’t really come off for him. 5/10

Wout Weghorst – Held the ball up nicely. Hit the post. Didn’t really look like scoring. 5/10

Subs:

Anthony Martial – Got United on their way shortly after coming on.

Jadon Sancho – Helped turn the tide in United’s favour from that #10 role. Looked sharp.

Marcus Rashford – His directness had Nottingham Forest sitting deeper.

Victor Lindelof – Brought on to help see the game out.

Harry Maguire – Brought on to help see the game out.
