Tom Heaton – Had a pretty quiet half. Wasn’t really tested but did his distribution job well enough. 6/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Made some important tackles. Tried to get forward wherever possible. 5/10
Raphael Varane – Cruised through the game as per usual. Wasn’t really tested defensively too often. 6/10
Lisandro Martinez – It was so good to see Lisandro Martinez out there. He was outstanding in that first 45, looking like he’d never been away. 6/10
Alvaro Fernandez – I’m a huge fan of this young lad. He tries to get forward wherever possible and he’s super comfortable with the ball at feet. 6/10
Kobbie Mainoo – He is the next star in the making. He doesn’t look out of place in that starting line-up already. Mainoo looked very mobile and comfortable with the ball at feet. 8/10
Hannibal – One of United’s better players in the first half. He was energetic, sharp and looked threatening. 7/10
Mason Mount – A debut for Mount was almost capped off with a lovely chipped goal. It was easy to see why he has been signed. This lad gets through the work, while also being an intelligent attacker. 7/10
Amad – Looked good. Often cut in onto his preferred left-foot, though that quality finish was all that was lacking here. 6/10
Jadon Sancho – Perhaps a little off the pace, which is understandable given this is the first pre-season game. Had a golden opportunity early, but his touch let him down. 5/10
Omari Forson – Played on the left-wing. Linked up well with Fernandez. 5/10
Subs:
Matej Kovar – The keeper didn’t really have an awful lot to do here. 5/10
Marc Jurado – Played at right-back and looked solid enough defensively. Positionally sound. 6/10
Rhys Bennett – The former youth captain did his job excellently against an experienced Patrick Bamford. 7/10
Will Fish – Looked the part at the heart of defence. That loan move to Hibs worked wonders for his young career. 6/10
Brandon Williams – The most senior player out there in the second 45. Bombed up and down the left-flank all half. 6/10
Dan Gore – Had a quietly excellent game. Kept things ticking over nicely and rarely gave the ball away. 6/10
Isak Hansen-Aaoren – Looked good, particularly for the opening goal. Showed quick feet and played an excellent ball through.
Charlie Savage – Wore the captain’s armband and wasn’t afraid to direct his teammates. Looked calm in midfield.
Shola Shoretire – It was good to see him out there after his loan last season. Drifted in and out of the game.
Noam Emeran – Took his goal really well with his left foot. Looked sharp playing off that right-hand side. Picked up an assist.
Joe Hugill – Led the line fairly well, though wasn’t fed all that often. When he was given that chance, he took it with aplomb.

Really good to see Hugill score and he nearly had a second in the last minute. I hope he starts next week .As a team now we have to learn to give our number nine who ever it is the right service and we will score the goals we need to compete with the top teams
