David de Gea – Had a quiet game. He was probably grateful of that after his struggles last weekend. 6/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Did well on both sides of the ball. Looked composed when in possession and defended well. 6/10
Raphael Varane – Awesome to see him back out there. Lasted over eighty minutes before he was subbed off. Defended well. 7/10
Victor Lindelof – Had a pretty quiet one at the heart of defence. Strolled through it. 6/10
Luke Shaw – United’s best defender back in his best position. Made so many important recovery runs and looked super confident. 7/10
Casemiro – Picked up a now customary early booking. Seemed to calm him down somewhat. Grew into the game. 6/10
Christian Eriksen – Kept things ticking over in midfield. Had a couple of long range efforts but his shots were off target. 5/10
Bruno Fernandes – At the heart of everything good about United’s attacking play. Grabbed a deserved assist deep into injury time.
Jadon Sancho – Was okay. Had a couple of half-chances. Drifted in and out of proceedings. 5/10
Antony – Very hit and miss. Made some lovely runs forward, getting into some threatening positions, but often made the wrong decision. Did assist the opener. 6/10
Anthony Martial – Did score, though he wasn’t great overall. Slumped around the pitch for large stretches. Didn’t look like himself. 5/10
Subs:
Wout Weghorst – Led the press from the front. Made some excellent runs.
Fred – Worked hard in midfield.
Harry Maguire – Won some headers. Made some crucial blocks.
Alejandro Garnacho – Given a fantastic reception by the United fans upon his return from injury. Scored the second which killed the game.
