David de Gea – Had a pretty quiet evening in truth. Couldn’t do anything about Iwobi’s spectacular strike. 6/10
Diogo Dalot – Not his finest outing. Somewhat sloppy and careless in terms of both possession and positioning. 3/10
Victor Lindelof – Looked calm alongside Martinez. Won plenty of headers and defended with real diligence and care. 6/10
Lisandro Martinez – Fought and scrapped for every loose ball. put his body on the line for the cause. Set the tone for a decent defensive display all-round. 6/10
Luke Shaw – Outstanding upon his return to the side. Worked tirelessly on both sides of the ball and showed real quality throughout. 7/10
Casemiro – A weird one. The Everton goal was absolutely his fault and some of the passing wasn’t good enough. However, his ball into Ronnie for United’s second was sublime. He was solid enough defensively, too. 6/10
Christian Eriksen – Pretty quiet. Had a few long shots but kept it simple for the most part. 5/10
Bruno Fernandes – His best match in a few. Was always trying to make things happen. Drew plenty of fouls. Creative. 6/10
Antony – Three in three. A lovely finish. Drifted in and out of the match. 6/10
Marcus Rashford – Unfortunate to not have added a third after a ridiculous VAR decision denies him a clear goal. Worked hard and looked a threat. 6/10
Anthony Martial – Started brightly and picked up an assist for the Antony leveller. Unfortunately came off with an injury shortly after. A real shame. 6/10
Subs:
Cristiano Ronaldo – Goal number 700 was a peach. The link-up with Casemiro was outstanding. That seemed to give him some much-needed confidence. Decent.
Scott McTominay – Booked within seconds of coming on for a pretty rash tackle. Suspended for Newcastle.
Raphael Varane – Came on late to kill some time. Good to see him back after injury.
