Man United edged past Luton Town at Kenilworth Road this afternoon, winning a close game 2-1. Here are our player ratings.
Andre Onana – Perhaps could have done better for the Luton goal, though had a steady game putting that aside. 5/10
Diogo Dalot – Continued his good run of form with another steady performance. Defended well enough. Didn’t get forward as often as we’d like. 5/10
Raphael Varane – Did his job well. Won headers and made some important tackles. 6/10
Harry Maguire – Was a little rash at times. Struggled against Morris. Picked up a booking and was brought off at HT as a result. 4/10
Luke Shaw – Lasted 45 minutes before succumbing to injury again. Now becoming a genuine concern. He was steady enough. 5/10
Casemiro – Struggled with Luton’s midfield energy. Booked for a careless tackle. Fortunate to not pick up a second yellow. 3/10
Kobbie Mainoo – Once again was one of United’s better players. Always so calm on the ball. Defended well. Full of energy. 7/10
Bruno Fernandes – Not his finest outing. Always works hard but his on-ball quality wasn’t of the required level today. 3/10
Marcus Rashford – Drifted in and out of the game. Sometimes didn’t look interested. Other times pressed hard. Had a couple of half-chances. Very inconsistent. 4/10
Alejandro Garnacho – Hit and miss. Made some nice, positive runs forward but often the final decision made was the incorrect one. 4/10
Rasmus Hojlund – Continues to score goals despite a lack of service. Bagged two today. Both very different yet equally important. Class. 8/10
Subs:
Victor Lindelof – Deployed at left-back. Did well enough given the circumstances.
Scott McTominay – Came on at half-time. Worked hard on both sides of the ball. Steady enough.
Jonny Evans – Solid when brought on. Helped see the game out during a fast-paced second 45 minutes.
Sofyan Amrabat – Added some extra solidity to the midfield area.
