Man United player ratings during 3-0 defeat to Liverpool (Premier League home, 2024/25)

Our Man United player ratings from a disastrous defeat at the hands of Liverpool are now in.

Andre Onana – His passing was very ordinary on this occasion. Couldn’t do anything about the goals. 5/10

Noussair Mazraoui – Sharp for large periods, though did struggle in some situations. 4/10

Matthijs de Ligt – Probably United’s best player for the first half an hour or so, though then started to struggle after Liverpool earned their breakthrough. 4/10

Lisandro Martinez – Not his finest outing with the ball at feet. Picked up a booking out of sheer frustration and never really recovered. 4/10

Diogo Dalot – Started at left-back and was left wanting against Luis Diaz. 4/10

Casemiro – Probably the worst I’ve ever seen him play. At fault for both first half goals and looked completely bereft of confidence. 2/10

Kobbie Mainoo – Got caught on the ball as Liverpool made it three. Was largely quiet in possession. 3/10

Bruno Fernandes – Didn’t really create any chances here, though it was tough as Liverpool’s midfield were completely on top. 3/10

Alejandro Garnacho – Didn’t really threaten despite getting into some promising situations. His subbing off was met with boos. 4/10

Marcus Rashford – Struggled once again. Didn’t threaten Trent Alexander-Arnold at all down that side. Looks completely without any confidence. 3/10

Joshua Zirkzee – Had a tough first half, with every ball bouncing off him and his passes not connecting. Improved but should have scored in the second 45. 4/10

Subs:

Toby Collyer – Made his debut against arguably the toughest opposition.

Harry Maguire – Solid enough.

Amad – Probably United’s most threatening attacker.

Christian Eriksen – Came on late.
