Here are our Man United player ratings from the 3-0 loss vs Liverpool.
Andre Onana – Average with the ball at feet. Not at fault for any of the Liverpool goals. 5/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – A trademark display of good defending and poor on-ball quality. 5/10
Jonny Evans – Does not have the pace to deal with Liverpool’s speedy attack. Came off with an issue. 4/10
Victor Lindelof – Very average. Started poorly and never really recovered. Possibly injured… 4/10
Harry Amass – Probably United’s best on the night. Growing into a senior role with each passing game. Defended well against Salah. 7/10
Casemiro – Just so poor defensively. Bypassed far too easily on numerous occasions. Unsure if he looks disinterested or is just getting older. 3/10
Toby Collyer – Steady enough in the first 45, though lost the ball for Liverpool’s second. 5/10
Mason Mount – Should have scored. Had a pair of good chances. Looked full of energy throughout and also showed his versatility. Could be an important player this season. 6/10
Amad – Probably his most ineffective pre-season match so far, particularly in the first half. 5/10
Marcus Rashford – Looked sharp. Was a threat to the Liverpool defence. I’m fully expecting a big bounce-back season. 6/10
Jadon Sancho – Continued in the striker role. Wasn’t really involved as much as we’d like. 4/10
Subs:
Rhys Bennett – Looked comfortable enough at the back.
Will Fish – Came off with a serious looking injury. Fingers crossed it’s not too bad.
Scott McTominay – Had a great opening but couldn’t find the back of the net.
Christian Eriksen – Was bypassed far too easily on occasion.
Antony – Typically uninspiring.
Ethan Wheatley – Had one semi-decent effort saved.
Sam Murray – Nice to see more of the talented left-back.
Sam Mather – Looked decent enough.
Maxi Oyedele – Came on at centre-back amid injury issues.
James Scanlon – Not enough time to mark.
