Our Man United player ratings for the Europa League away game vs FC Porto are now in…
Andre Onana – Probably one of United’s best performers on the night. Made some top tier saves to help salvage a draw. 7/10
Noussair Mazraoui – Was at fault for the first Porto goal as he headed the ball back towards his goalkeeper. Had a steady enough outing aside from that. 5/10
Matthijs de Ligt – It was a truly worrying performance, during which the Dutchman looked completely bereft of confidence. Poor positionally. Not strong enough in the tackle. Not confident enough with ball at feet. 3/10
Lisandro Martinez – Also struggled, uncharacteristically. Looked a little phased by the situation as Porto continued to attack him defensively. Not great. 4/10
Diogo Dalot – Two goals came down his side as his defensive frailties continued. He’s just not a left-back and he continues to be exposed by quality wingers. 3/10
Casemiro – Very ordinary from start to finish. Didn’t really do enough defensively and wasn’t progressive enough with the ball when in possession. 4/10
Christian Eriksen – Was involved in the United opener, passing to Rashy to kick things off. Had a fairly quiet game aside from that moment. 5/10
Bruno Fernandes – Sent off for the second time in two games, though this one will not be overturned. Wasn’t involved enough in an attacking sense and was largely limited to long range efforts. 4/10
Amad – Looked sharp to start the game but that initial promise quickly fizzled out and he struggled to fight his way back into the match. 4/10
Marcus Rashford – Scored the opener and looked lively in an attacking sense, though was hooked at half-time, presumably due to his lack of effort defensively as Porto scored twice down his side. 5/10
Rasmus Hojlund – Scored on his first start back from injury which is a great confidence booster. 6/10
Subs:
Alejandro Garnacho – Looked threatening at times. Had a late shot saved.
Joshua Zirkzee – Didn’t cause enough problems for the Porto back line.
Antony – Not involved enough.
Harry Maguire – Rescued a late point with a brilliant header.
Jonny Evans – Steady enough.
