Man United recorded their biggest ever victory under Erik ten Hag last night, beating Barnsley 7-0 in the Carabao Cup. Here are our player ratings from that game.

Altay Bayindir – Handed a rare start but had very little to do as Barnsley were quiet in the final third. 6/10

Diogo Dalot – Moved back to the right-hand side of defence and looked far more comfortable. Played well. 6/10

Harry Maguire – Had a comfortable evening. Marshalled the back line well and kept everything tight. 6/10

Jonny Evans – Again, rarely tested but used all his experience to ensure United didn’t get sloppy. 6/10

Toby Collyer – Started out of position at left-back and it showed at times. Did eventually move to midfield where he looked far more comfortable. 5/10

Manuel Ugarte – Won the ball on several occasions and was more than willing to throw his weight around and give away some free-kicks. A decent full debut. 6/10

Casemiro – Deployed a little further forward and that certainly suited the Brazilian. He looked good. 6/10

Christian Eriksen – Rolled back the years with two lovely finishes. Also played a sublime ball into Garna for the fourth goal. He was superb. 8/10

Antony – Nice to see him out there playing with confidence. Tucked away a penalty calmly. Looked threatening. 7/10

Marcus Rashford – Looked sharp. Grabbed a brace and played with a smile on his face which was great to see. 8/10

Alejandro Garnacho – The best player on the pitch. Constantly threatened and scored two brilliant goals. 8/10

Subs:

Noussair Mazraoui – Involved in some lovely team moves.

Bruno Fernandes – Picked up an assist for Eriksen.

Joshua Zirkzee – Given another run out.

Matthijs de Ligt – Helped preserve the clean sheet.

Amad – Came on late.

  1. What we have learned from the last two games is that United have the players to bright attacking football. It is up to ETH to embrace that style of football on a permanent basis If he goes back to that slow build up play, wingers cutting inside and taking wild shots at goal and players playing back to the keeper all day he will be sacked . The ball is in his court
