Sergio Romero – In truth, he was nothing but a bystander. Probably the quietest game he’ll ever have. 6/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Solid defensively as per usual. Got forward pretty often. 6/10
Eric Bailly – Did well to keep is concentration despite United bossing the majority of the game. 6/10
Harry Maguire – Nice to see him carry the ball forward and get involved in the opposing half. An easy night for him. 7/10
Luke Shaw – Continues his great form. Bombed forward all night long and looked supremely fit. Made some crucial tackles high up the field, too. Well played. 7/10
Scott McTominay – It honestly felt like he’d ever been away. Capped off a brilliant performance with a superbly taken goal to wrap up the win for United. 8/10
Fred – Steady. Kept things ticking over for United, and was willing to carry the ball and threaten Brugge’s defence. Scored a tap-in late on, then followed it up with a brilliant strike to wrap things up. 8/10
Bruno Fernandes – Unbelievable. Was at the heart of everything good for United. I just can’t get over his quality. Scored another penalty and bossed the game from there on out. What a signing! 9/10
Juan Mata – You know, he may no longer have the legs or physical attributes, but his brain is still as outstanding as ever. Linked up well with Bruno. 7/10
Daniel James – Was ok. Took the shot which led to the Brugge red card. Still, I’d like to see more end product from the young Welshman. 5/10
Odion Ighalo – Brought a different dimension to this United attack and capped off a supreme team move to score his first reds goal. It was wonderful to see how much it meant to him. 8/10
Subs:
Tahith Chong – Worked hard. Pulled it back nicely for Fred to score his second.
Jesse Lingard – Picked up a smart assist for Fred’s first. Made some excellent runs forward.
Mason Greenwood – Showed some quality touches and flicks.
