David de Gea – Made some brilliant saves in that first 15 minutes. Didn’t really have too much to do from that point onward. 7/10
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Dealt with Sterling pretty well, though he was careless with the ball at his feet. 5/10
Victor Lindelof – Did alright. Tried to pass out from the back where possible. 6/10
Harry Maguire – Put in a proper captain’s shift. Wore his heart on his sleeve, won key tackles and tried to drag his team forward. 7/10
Luke Shaw – Drifted in and out of the game offensively, but did his job when going backwards. 6/10
Brandon Williams – Was steady. It was tough for him to get out at times, but my, this lad is a fighter. 6/10
Nemanja Matic – Put in a colossal performance and dragged United back into the tie with a great finish. Gave away a needless foul which led to his sending off, though. 6/10
Fred – Absolutely brilliant. Made the right pass, had his head on a swivel and dealt with the barrage of City players running at him supremely. Continues to get better. 8/10
Jesse Lingard – The less said, the better. Couldn’t string a pass together or get into the game. Rightfully subbed. 4/10
Anthony Martial – I felt sorry for both he and Greenwood. They had little support and had to do it all on their own. Tough. 5/10
Mason Greenwood – See Anthony Martial ^ 5/10
Subs:
Daniel James – His final ball was lacking in quality.
Andreas Pereira – Didn’t really get into the game.
Juan Mata – Why on earth didn’t he take the free-kick!?
