Man United player ratings vs Man City during 2-0 win (Premier League, 2020)

David de Gea – Honestly, he was pretty quiet. Made a couple of smart saves late on, but that was about it. 6/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Kept Raheem Sterling quiet (again). Offered plenty in attack, too. What an outrageously good performance. 8/10

Victor Lindelof – The Ice Man was as cool as you like throughout. He kept Sergio Aguero in check throughout. 6/10

Harry Maguire – Again, it looked pretty routine for him. Wasn’t really stretched to the limit by that City attack. Won a few headers and made some interceptions, but that was about it. 7/10

Luke Shaw – Continues his mightily impressive form. Worked tirelessly on both sides of the ball and didn’t give City a sniff. Quality. 7/10

Brandon Williams – Nice to see him back in the team. Won the Harpurhey vs Stockport derby against Phil Foden easily. A very mature display. 7/10

Nemanja Matic – Marshalled the backline brilliantly. Was even willing to get forward where possible. 7/10

Fred – Unfortunate to get booked for a ‘dive’ which was actually a blatant penalty. Bossed the game from deep midfield. 7/10

Bruno Fernandes – His quick-thinking with the free-kick was what set United on their way. This lad is an absolute winner and his mentality is rubbing off on the rest of the squad. Superb. 8/10

Daniel James – His debut season has been hit and miss, but today, he deserves praise for the way he ran the channels and stretched that City back line. Worked his socks off throughout. Well done. 7/10

Anthony Martial – You didn’t doubt him, did you? The goal was a little bit scrappy but who cares. Led the line wonderfully well. 8/10

Subs:

Eric Bailly – Didn’t really have to get involved.

Scott McTominay – Sent Old Trafford absolutely mental with his well-taken second.

Odion Ighalo – An excellent cameo. That flick, phwoar.
