The Red Devils made it two wins from two in the Champions League, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer showing his tactical class. Now, let’s get right into our Man United player ratings vs RB Leipzig.

David de Gea – Made a couple of smart saves to preserve his clean-sheet. 6/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Continued to show that he’s an absolute defensive machine. He’s quite possibly the best tackler in the world. 7/10

Victor Lindelof – There were one or two nervy moments, but on the whole, The Ice Man was excellent, particularly with the ball at his feet. 6/10

Harry Maguire – Solid and led by example. Won his headers and bossed his individual battles. Back to his best. 6/10

Luke Shaw – His most complete display in a long time. Positionally sound, defensively secure and willing to get forward. Well played. 7/10

Nemanja Matic – Had a solid first 30 minutes or so, but struggled to deal with the mobility of the RB Leipzig midfield. 5/10

Fred – Covered every blade of grass and was a constant thorn in Leipzig’s side. However, his passing was often frustrating. 5/10

Donny van de Beek – Has a great eye for a pass. Showed calmness and composure throughout. A very solid outing. 6/10

Paul Pogba – Was involved in some lovely interplay. Showed his strength on more than one occasion and played a great ball into Mason Greenwood for the opener. 7/10

Mason Greenwood – Lethal. Had one chance. Scored one goal. 7/10

Anthony Martial – Was actually pretty quiet for an hour or so. Came to life when Leipzig started to look a little tired. Tucked his penalty away nicely. 7/10

Subs:

Marcus Rashford – I just don’t know what else to say about this man. A second-half hat-trick, while absolutely terrorising Dayot Upamecano, was an absolute privilege to watch.

Bruno Fernandes – Like Rashford, he changed the game. When he came on the field, we were getting on the ball in far more threatening positions.

Scott McTominay – Covered loads of ground and won his fair share of tackles. An excellent cameo.

Edinson Cavani – Looked sharp. Had the ball in the back of the net but it was unfortunately ruled out for offside.
