Man United player subbed off at half-time with illness, doubt for next match

Manchester United Football Club has had their fair share of injury problems recently, as the pressure continues to mount on Jose Mourinho.

Now, the Red Devils are sweating on the fitness of another player, with defender Victor Lindelof suffering from an illness, Sky Sports News report.

The centre-back had to be substituted at half-time during Sweden’s game against Turkey as he was unwell, but credit to Lindelof for making it through till half-time.

Now the one they call the Ice Man is a doubt to take on Russia on Tuesday night, and with United playing just a few days later, it gives Mourinho another potential headache in terms of team selection.

This couldn’t come at a worse time. Lindelof has been playing far better recently, particularly in those two games against Juventus, in which he was mightily impressive.

Fortunately, it doesn’t sound like anything too serious. Perhaps all he needs is a bit of rest, and hopefully, he’ll be fit to take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday because we’re certainly going to need him…

I just hope that Sweden don’t rush him back to try and force him to play in the aforementioned game against Turkey on Tuesday. The best thing for everyone involved would be to let him come back to United so he can get himself back in top shape.
