Man United players believe that Erik ten Hag is now resigned to being sacked this summer.
Manchester United have some major decisions to make this summer. Board-level members of staff are losing their jobs, others are being brought in as replacements.
INEOS are doing their utmost to set this club back on an upward trajectory again, though it’s going to be a long process. Erik ten Hag, after some poor results, is no doubt feeling the heat. The Dutchman had a brutal week, dropping five points from winning positions, which could end the Reds’ hopes of finishing inside the Champions League places.
As a result, the gaffer could be set to lose his job. According to The Sun, the dressing room already ‘fear’ that the Dutchman has resigned himself to the sack.
Apparently, Ten Hag has changed his demeanour in recent weeks, suggesting that he knows he will lose his job at the end of the campaign.
On top of that, The Sun reaffirmed the belief that a replacement, in Graham Potter, has already been identified.
The Englishman struggled at Chelsea, though he wasn’t really given time to turn it around. Potter has been linked with United in the past and while I do see some logic in the move, it feels like a sideways step.
We have to remember that Ten Hag is not an INEOS man. Sir Jim Ratcliffe may look to kickstart his new era by bringing in a boss of his choosing, which could well be Potter. Although I’d be against it, I can definitely see it happening.
