Man United pleased with Mason Greenwood after excellent display vs West Ham

Man United fans were incredibly pleased with a top performance from Mason Greenwood vs West Ham.

Ole Gunnar Solskaer was certainly delighted with young Mason Greenwood after yesterday’s outing, with the gaffer heaping praise on the young striker.

I’ll be honest, I felt worried going into that game without Edinson Cavani or Anthony Martial, particularly as Greenwood has struggled in front of goal this season. I needn’t have been as young Mason was brilliant.

From first minute till last, Greenwood kept busy, made intelligent runs and constantly kept the opposing centre-halves preoccupied. He’d have two half-chances and get denied by the woodwork on both occasions – but his overall display was definitely pleasing.

Pace, hunger, work ethic, on-ball intelligence. Greenwood brought it all to the table in abundance and make no mistake about it, he was a big reason as to why the Red Devils came away from Old Trafford with three points.

Sure, we’d all liked to have seen Greenwood hit 20+ goals this term but that hasn’t happened. That doesn’t take away from his talent and ability, while it’s so easy to forget he’s still only a baby in footballing terms.

It’s definitely fair to say Greenwood’s future lies at striker. He has all the intangibles to become one of the best in the world at that position. The goals will come, that’s obvious, but you have to be impressed with the way he carried himself on the evening. Not once did he let his head drop – and that’ll serve him well for the future.

No doubt that performance last night will work wonders for his confidence, as will the social media reaction from the fans. They were pleased with the star’s outing vs West Ham and rightly so, too.
