Man United plotting move for 19-year-old midfielder after extensive scouting: report

Manchester United need to head in a different direction. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to get the Red Devils operating as they were during the Sir Alex Ferguson glory years.

It’s why this summer, I’m pleased to see the club linked with a whole host of youngsters rather than big-name, marquee signings with huge bust potential.

The latest name to be linked with an Old Trafford move is Eljif Elmas, who currently plies his trade for Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig. In an exclusive from Peter O’Rourke for Footballer Insider, United are ‘plotting a summer swoop’ for the 19-year-old.

Apparently, the Red Devils have been tracking Elmas for ‘some time’, and they even sent scouts to watch the midfielder in Champions League qualifying at the start of the current season.

Furthermore, United are ready to try and steal a march on their rivals by firming up their interest with a bid.

Solskjaer’s club won’t be the only ones interested in Elmas, though, with both Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City also keen.

Fenerbahce have struggled massively this season and they’re bracing themselves for bids for their top prospect, and it’s good to see United trying to remain forward-thinking and get a jump on their opponents.
