Man United could well make their move to bring in RB Leipzig defender, Nordi Mukiele.
Old Trafford will play host to some of the best players in the world next season, despite the fact that Manchester United have taken a massive step back over the last twelve months.
Erik ten Hag will be the new gaffer in town, though he’ll need to be given a sizable transfer budget this summer, if United are serious about challenging for trophies.
Several players are leaving. They need to be replaced with genuine quality. No doubt current manager Ralf Rangnick will have his say on signings. After all, he’s worked with this squad for the last six months.
Defence is probably high atop the list of needs, particularly in the full-back area. Enter, Nordi Mukiele.
The Frenchman plies his trade for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, with Rangnick knowing him well from his time with the German club.
Anyway, the latest report from Fussball Transfers, with the translation coming via Sport Witness, certainly makes for interesting reading…
Their headline reads, ‘United prepare Mukiele offer’, with the Red Devils seemingly looking to start their overhaul with a new defensive line.
The Reds’ next step is to make a ‘formal offer’ for the 24-year-old, who has consistently played 30+ matches as season over the last four years. Atletico Madrid are also credited with interest.
I think we’re all certain in regards to Aaron Wan-Bissaka not being good enough. Diogo Dalot, too. Neither has kicked on and taken their game to the next level. Hence, a new right-sided defender has to be signed.
Mukiele would join the club with a starting place from day one almost guaranteed. And what a career move it’d be for the man.
As is going to be the case for several transfers this summer, United have no Champions League football on offer so it may well be tough for the Old Trafford club to beat out the competition.
