Man United prepared to accept Fulham’s £8.5m Andreas Pereira offer

Andreas Pereira could well be sold by Man United this summer, as Fulham have made an official proposal.

Manchester United are yet to make a signing, though granted, a move for Frenkie de Jong feels like it’s edging closer.

As things stand, it seems the focus is still on trimming down the squad and clearing some dead wood. Several players are leaving on free transfers, while others will be sold.

One player who has turned into somewhat the forgotten man is Andreas Pereira. The Brazilian spent last season out on loan back in his homeland and by all accounts did well.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, it looks as though Pereira is deemed as surplus to requirements by United.

According to Romano, United are ‘prepared to accept’ an £8.5m bid from Fulham for the player. That deal will come with extra financial incentives by way of add-ons.

Apparently, Pereira will make his final decision ‘next week’, with the ball firmly in his court in regards to where his future lies.

United have been notoriously bad sellers for years. However, getting close to £10m for a player like Pereira would be a nice little coup.

Sadly for the Brazilian, I see no way back for him here in Manchester. Fulham will offer him the chance to play regularly in the Premier League. That opportunity may not come around again.

It has always been a consistency issue with Pereira. Nobody has ever doubted his talent and he has scored some truly outrageous goals over the years. Sometimes, though, I’m not sure that he’s of the required level.

To me, it feels like one of those deals that’s an ideal fit for all involved parties.

This could be another indicator that a De Jong deal is close, too…
