Man United prepared to pay David de Gea £20m to join PSG this summer: report

Quite frankly, Manchester United have done well to keep ahold of David de Gea for as long as they have. With one year left on his deal and now sign of the Spaniard putting pen to paper, his time at Old Trafford could be winding down.

The superstar has been the Red Devils’ most consistent player for the last half-decade. If anyone deserves a big payday it’s him, but have United given him a good reason to stick around? I’m not convinced.

With that in mind, United could be under pressure to cash in on the world-class 28-year-old this summer, so they’re ready to pay De Gea off…

According to The Sun, the 20-time Premier League champions are willing to give De Gea £20million if he leaves for Paris Saint-Germain over the next few months.

The article claims that United would sell De Gea to PSG for between £60-75million, netting them somewhere around £50million after paying off the #1.

De Gea knows that he could be in line for a huge contract if he winds down his deal and moves for free next summer, but understandably, United are looking to avoid that scenario.

PSG would be an excellent destination for all involved. De Gea would win trophies, United would get a commanding fee while the Ligue 1 giants would be getting the consummate professional.

Although it’d be majorly disappointing to lose De Gea, it does seem as though this transfer rumour has legs…
