Man United are still pushing hard to sign a pair of Bayern Munich players this summer.
Manchester United Football Club have made two signings so far this summer. All has quietened down significantly, due to the fact the Old Trafford side are in a situation where they have to sell before they can buy.
That isn’t stopping the Reds from moving for their desired targets, presumably with potential sales being moved along in the background.
Two names heavily linked with an Old Trafford switch over the last few weeks have been the Bayern Munich couple of Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on that front. He states that United are now ‘prepared’ to return for talks with Bayern over signing both players.
Both De Ligt and Mazraoui are ‘only waiting’ for United, with the players’ camp confident a deal can be done. The Old Trafford side have already agreed contracts with the Dutchman and the Moroccan.

Agreement until June 2029 plus option already done with both players days ago, now working on club side.

This is super interesting as double deals are somewhat rare. It still could be two separate transfers rather than an outright combined fee for the signings, though it’s still surprising to see Bayern willingly allowing a couple of players to move to United at the same time.
Once again, Erik ten Hag continues to look to surround himself with familiarity. He’s worked with both these players before during his Ajax days, as he continues to overall the defence.
The De Ligt signing is now particularly important after the injury Leny Yoro has suffered. United need a quality defender who can come in and drop consistent 7/10 performances on a week-in-week-out basis.
